Transfiguration

This is my favourite Peter story.

 

In the finish I don’t know if I have got past wanting to build little booths like Peter.

 

In my parish there are three church buildings. The Transfiguration story reminds me of the natural tendency we share with Peter to construct little buildings to shelter our spiritual understanding.

 

Transfiguration Sunday is a good day to laugh at myself and enjoy knowing the folly of putting faith in earthly constructions.

So wonderful that our relationship with God is not defined by buildings.
