Self Portrait
After Maslow came Noriaki Kano with understanding of basic, performance and excitement needs.
Performance needs flow into basic needs, excitement needs become performance needs. There is a continual expectation of new things to excite us.
The pyramid represents Maslow’s view of needs. The stripes are Kano’s needs, red for excitement.
The white sphere is unifying spiritual existence.
The striped sphere represents our being in time, birth to death, within the white pyramid of our spiritual needs. For a Christian, there is no hierarchy of spiritual needs, the pyramid has no stripes.
The shapes and colours represent ideas which are reflections of my external reality. All of my reality is known in prayer. Some is known mostly in prayer – generally, the white sphere and pyramid. See prayer 149.
In white metafish, the striped sphere represents the genetic nucleus.
To ponder?
Is the striped sphere the piece replaced by the white sphere?

A generic self portrait, like a mirror.
